Forever he’ll love Atlanta and during a recent radio interview, T.I. said with all confidence that he expects to see his hometown Falcons in the Super Bowl, but first they have to get through the San Francisco 49ers during Sunday’s NFC Championship game.
“Don’t get me wrong I like the Niners, I do like the Niners. Every since they had Mike Singletary as a coach I was paying close attention to ’em,” he said on Power 106’s Big Boy’s Neighborhood earlier this week. “It’s good to see them back on a platform of prominence, but I’m with the Birds all day long.”
Last Sunday after San Francisco beat the Green Bay Packers, T.I.’s fellow ATLien 2 Chainz marched onto the field and crashed wide receiver Michael Crabtree’s post-game interview, chanting, “We won, yeah!”
Deuce, who was dressed in a gold satin Niners jacket and matching beanie, confused some folks who thought that he was an unwavering Falcons fan. Portions of the album art on his solo debut Based on a T.R.U. Story were dedicated to the team. “Ay, 2 Chainz holla at me,” Tip shouted after Big Boy stated that he wouldn’t be taking any monetary bets against the T.I..
Looks like Chainz won’t be betting against his home team either. On January 13 he made sure fans knew where his allegiance lays. “Dont get it twisted i am still a falcon fan 1st…. Great game tho,” he tweeted before making his prediction for Sunday’s big game. “Them dirty birds gone whoop that head boy.”
“I think it’s gonna be the Falcons and the Ravens,” T.I. said predicting that Baltimore will overtake New England in their AFC Championship game, placing them in the Super Bowl.
“Battle of the black birds,” Tip called it.
